Homelessness / Unsheltered / Campers

Regardless of how you want to spin this, the fact is we have a large number of unsheltered living in all communities. We have the prejudices of many civic leaders that believe if they just pass laws to forbid people living on the streets they will go away. The fact is they won’t.

God himself says we will always have the poor and hungry among us Deuteronomy 15:11. He also says we must help them with an open hand, which simply means a generous hand.

Luke 4:18
“The Spirit of Elohim (God) is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recover of sight to the blind. To set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the lord.”

The word of God and of the messiah tells us that we are not to turn a blind eye to the many who are suffering, homeless, and needy. I started out with reaching into my own pockets as limited as it may have been, but it was God who began to multiply it. I now hand out between 400 to 600 meals a month not including blankets, sleeping bags, toilet paper as well as helping those without, buy insulin, heart medications, etc.

We go off the beaten paths into wooded areas where many are not known. They tell me I am the only one who ever finds them. I am out 12 months a year or until I can no longer physically do so. I can’t help but cry for these lost sheep who have been kicked to the gutter. These men and women who are as old as 70 years in age have nowhere to go, I can not leave them out to suffer. Yes, and many cry to God that is why He has heard them and shown me His hearts burden. Others and I have felt God’s calling to reach out and to love his people. There are few laborers, but many in need.

Even if you are unable, you can support this effort in many ways. I ask you to pray what you should do, don’t turn away. Even if it is not with this helping hand there are others out there as well who need your support.

We don’t just serve Veterans, but all who need our help.
